Information

Chesterton’s Carol was composed for the Christmas season of 2017 and dedicated to Father Tobias Unnerstål, the parish priest of the Roman Catholic parish Christ the King, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

In “A Christmas Carol Poem”, G.K. Chesterton paints a tender portrait of the Christ-child lying on Mary’s lap. The music has the character of a lullaby in 6/8 meter. The lovely melody is harmonized in a fresh and sometimes surprising way.

Listen to a recording of the carol, sung by The Vocal ensemble of Christ the King, conducted by Samuel Eriksson, Director of Music, on YouTube.
