Information
The Finland-Swedish modernist poet Edith Södergran’s poem Triumf att finnas till, published already in 1918, reflects a strong and sensual mind.
“What do I fear? I am a part of infinity. A triumph to live, a triumph to breathe, a triumph to exist!”
The expressive music of Jan Yngwe very well suites the lyrics. English translation by Martin Allwood.
Jan Yngwe (b. 1953) is a choral conductor (Vocal Art Ensemble of Sweden, former Pro Musica), composer and professor in choir and orchestra conducting at the Academy of Music and Drama, Göteborg University.
