”In 2017, the Svanholm Singers and I focused on the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We commissioned new works and created conceptual performances to go with them to illustrate certain articles found in the declaration.
This was also a year where we toured extensively abroad. One such tour took us to France, where our concerts were held in churches and cathedrals. To create a contrast to our more austere modern pieces, I also added material based on Gregorian themes that originated in France, and that had always fascinated me. Kyrie is one of the pieces that premiered this year.” – Sofia Söderberg
