Dubito

Information

Emil Råberg’s great piece of music Dubito, for 8-parts mixed choir and accordion (alternatively organ), is based on lyrics by Amanda Björnerås. The text, which expresses doubts and worries is mixed with rapid syllables (possibly influenced by minimalistic compositions), ends with a prayer: ”Deep in the dark I pray: Be by my side, my Lord! Alleluia, alleluia!”

The instrumental part (for accordion or organ) is quite demanding.

Dubito was first performed by the Erik Westberg Vocal Ensemble and David Wahlén in the Royal Chapel, Stockholm 10 October 2010. Listen to a recording from the Royal Chapel on YouTube.
