Sara Teasdale’s poetry is very dramatic and personal, and you can almost hear her voice in her poems. There is an honesty in her poetry and a directness that is touching. Her poems are very well suited to be set to music and also to sing. And interestingly enough, she herself called her poems ”songs”. Song is also an ongoing theme in her poetry throughout.
